Joe Adlaka Aculiak

Joe Adlaka Aculia was born in 1936 at Echalook's camp. His mother Lucy is the widow of artist Josephie Aculiak. He has five younger brothers, all of whom he taught to carve, and are all active in the local Arts Council. A prolific carver, while most of his works represent people, he is equally at home with animals as subject matter. 

His work enjoys international exposure and has been seen in galleries throughout the Western world.
