was married to Ottochie Ashoona, daughter of Simeonie Kopapik, sister of Simigak Simeonie -------- Tumira Ashoona Born: 1943 Community: Iqaluit Also resided in Cape Dorset Female - Drawing, Prints Tumira's first husband was the late Ottochie Ashoona, son of Pitseolak from Cape Dorset. Tumira is perhaps best known for her drawings, but took part in the 1964 and 1965 Cape Dorset Print Collections.Her work is included in many major collections of Inuit art including the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Canadian Museum Of Civilization.
