Elizabeth was born near Chantrey Inlet and moved to settle in Baker Lake
in 1968. The traditional sewing skills she used to make and decorate clothing
for her family are skills that translate well in the art of wallhanging.
Elizabeth has created many colourful wallhangings that have been
exhibited in Canada and the United States. Since the summer of 1990, she has
not been actively sewing wallhangings. Elizabeth's husband, Samson Quinanguaq
(1934 -), is a graphic artist in Baker Lake.
