Settlement: Baker Lake / Qamani’tuaq

(1943) — E4-634

Alternative Names: Noah Noah, Martha Noah, Ilumigayuk Noah, Eloomeegahuk Noah, Eloomeeagajook Noah, Eloomeegajook Noah

Inuit Artist Print Workbook married to William Noah, sister of mary Pootook Martha Noah has worked in the Baker Lake print program from the first editioned collection in 1970 into the 90s. Although in the beginning she worked primarily with her husband , the artist William Noah, she soon began to contribute her considerable print making talents to the work of other artists as well. Martha is probably responsible for the editioning of more prints than any other Sanavik printmaker and is especially adept at stencil printmaking. She has not contributed drawings, although some catalogues attributed images to "William and Martha Noah".
