An Inuit Perspective Marie Bouchard 2000 " When I first started carving, i was told to make human figures or animals. I carve more complicated pieces than this today by remembering legends and stories that I have heard from my grandparents, who raised me, and by using my imagination. today Inuit have Nunavut --- we have regained our homeland. through our sculptures, we pay tribute to our ancestors. They survived a difficult life for us. It is because of them that we are here today." ------------- married to Ruth Qaullaryuk, son of J Oonark, brother of W Noah, J Kigusing, N Pukingrnak, V Mamngushualuk et al. --------- Drawings, Prints, Crafts, Sculpture, Jewellery Joshua is the eldest son of Baker Lake artist Jessie Oonark.
